We are coming through what has been the greatest recession that most of us will experience in our lifetime. Stopping future Government Invasion aka “The Trash Plan”

I believe the Government should serve only in a support role to the citizens, who ultimately have the final say. The county should be involved in basic services such as Public Safety, Transportation and maintaining our Public Utility infrastructure. This is why I was firmly against “The Trash Plan” that has been forced on the citizens of Gwinnett.

Transportation

The Metro Atlanta area is a place where we love our cars and our ability to go where we want, when we want, without having to deal with any form of public transportation.  In most situations, public transportation is a burden on the taxpayers and requires huge Government subsidies to keep afloat – something most here in Gwinnett are strongly opposed to.

Water

Lake Lanier currently serves as the only drinking water source for nearly 1 million people.  It has been a wonderful resource and will continue to be, but not without limitations.  The lake is controlled by the whims of the Federal Government and disputes with neighboring states as well as Environmental groups.  This often leads to watering restrictions, which create funding shortfalls.
